  1. Benito Mussolini was the Fascist dictator of Italy during World War II. He also led the National Fascist Party. During the war he lost support of his followers and was then hanged by his people.

  2. The battle of Stalingrad was one of the biggest battles in World War 2. The germans lost this battle to the russians. Russia had more tanks with 894 opposed to the Germans who had 675 tanks. This probably was one of the reasons why the Russians won the battle

  3. The London Blitz was a series of air raids ordered by Hitler. He wanted great britian to surrender to him and he wanted to break down their Civil and Economic Morale. For the first 57 days of the Blitz there was continous non stop bombings through out the days and nights. Many British people were left homeless after these bombings occurred.

  4. Im doing World War 2 effects on the United States. World War II brought an end to the Depression everywhere. Industries had been ignited for the production of arms and resources to equip fighting forces.

  5. There's a lot of information about my topic that I didn't know before. For example I learned a lot about Benito Mussolini, Facism and East and West Africa Campaign. Listing some facts more specifically would be that Mussolini was one of the founders of Facism, he had many followers, he led this group of believers during WWII but his followers soon turned on him and he was later hanged.

  6. Dr. Josef Mengele, known as the "Angel of Death," used Jewish and Gypsy children, specifically twins, as experiments and put them under cruel conditions and treatments. He froze children to death, drugged them, and put them into pressured chambers.

  7. Pearl Harbor was when the Japanese attacked the navel base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7th 1944. After this attack the Amaeican people became very fearfull towards the Japanese even those who were American citizens. Due to this fear the United States goverment decided to put all people of Japanese desent in interment camps.

  8. during my study of WW2 in this project, id have to say adolf hitler seemed to stand out the most as a heartless character that cause global commosion with his actions,, through his hate for the jewish religeon he exterminated over six million jews.

  9. I am doing a project about the effects of WW2 on the US. Previously, the US had been in a major depression concerning the economy, after, the US economy grew. Suburban homes became popular among many middle class societys.

  10. Joseph Stalin was a very interesting man in power because unlike other leaders before him, he was communist and formed a communist government. Stalin also was seen as a hero or father firgure to the people of the Soviet Union because he helped get the country back on its feet and lead the people. but he wasn't all good and sweet, he ruled with an iron fist and held control over everyone.

  11. The person i have been researching is Joseph Stalin. By doing research, I have learned that Stalin was a communist and the leader of the soviet union. He was involved with the Great purge which wad a series of campaignes of political repression and presecution in the Soviet Union. He was also involved with the gulag, the government agancy that administered the pental labor camps of the Soviet Union. He was involved with these due to his leadership in the red army and over the soviet union in general.

  12. In the battle of Stalingrad between the Russians and Germans I never realized that both sides suffured over 1 million casulties. It wasa really astounding to see how so many people gave their lives for this city and ended up destroying it.

  13. I learned how savere the event of leningrad was. I never realized how many people died during the Siege of Leningrad. I learned that it was not only a blockade against the city but I learned that they were not only limiting the supplies but were killing people too.

  14. Hitler was determined to destroy London to devastate Britain’s civilian and government morale and eventually demoralize the British into surrendering. The London Blitz was a bombing for 57 days. The German's Luftwaffe attacked other cities such as liverpool and Birmingham.

  15. I learned how the seige of leningrad lasted 900 days asweel as being a large part in the preservation on the Red Army. This was accomplished by rationing food supplies and blockading Leningrad from any contact from the outside world and eventhough the people of St. Petersburg did not surrender they showed the world how tought they were in this really tough time in there citys history.

  17. Ive learned about African american influence on the battle of war world II. They created the tuskgee airmen flew airplanes and help bomb the enemy in euruope. Women also helped by working jobs in the factories and making certain parts as guns ships airplanes and war products.

  18. I learned about W.E.B DuBois. He fought against racism and worked as a journalist. He was the first African American to receive a Ph.D from Harvard and a cofounder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He also wrote the book The Soul of Black Folk. His goal was to improve the lives of African Americans.

  20. Adolf Hitler was a very powerful leader of Germany during the 1930's and 1940's. He believed that the Jews were the cause of all of Germanys problems, so he put them in concentration camps. Many died which led to the Holocaust.

  21. i have been studying the bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki and the Manhatten Project. Ive learned all about the Manhatten Project how top secret the it really was. Also, i learned about how the bomb was made and the details and chemistry that went into it. I found that the most interesting facts of the backgriound on

  22. I learned that about 30,000,000 soldiers were killed and about 50,000,000 civilians were killed in World War 2. Many people from all over Europe were affected by this.

  23. Franklin Roosevelt originally wanted to stay nuetral but slowly started to get involved in the war. He began first by lending war supplies to Britian and then after Pearl Harbor the United States entered the war. FDR was also the first and only president to serve 4 terms in office.

  25. The things i have learned about women in wourld war 2 is that women played a really big part in the war and during the war more than 19 million women worked in factories and many other places.The symbol for women working so hard was Rosie the Riveter.

  27. As I have been researching the Liberation of Europe for my wikispace, I have learned about the rise and fall of Adolf Hitlers dictatorship campaign of Germany. Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany in January 1933 while having absolute authority over the German Reich, which spread over a territory from France to Russia, and from Finland to Italy and into Africa.

  29. I learned that the New Deal helped improve lives of people suffering from the depresstion. FDR's first days of president, was spent creating relief forms. Winston Churchill was the
    Prime Minister of Britian. He had a strong relationship with FDR which lead to the share of war supplies.

  30. In the wikispaces weve started to add pictures on the weapons that were used during world war 2. The weapons were a main part of this era. The weapons were used for the wars which were somewhat sucessful.

  32. I learned that Blitzkrieg in Poland was know as the "lighten war" and that it had 1 million Germans aganist 600,000 Poles and that the Luftwaffe had 3 planes for every Polish aircraft, most of which were destroyed on the ground in the first few days

  33. The blitzkrieg in poland is a lightning war over poland. the germans had about 1 million soldiers against about 600 thousand poles. The invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union marked the start of world war II.

  36. i've been learning basically the lifestyle of a soldier during the war and after the war. The conditions they lived in were terrible and couldnt be lived in but one way or onother they manished to survive. After the war eventhough people survived they might have caught a disease that may harm them for the rest of their lifes.

  37. I have learned that in the Battle of El Alamein there were two commanders that fought against eachother named Bernard Montgomery and Erwin Rommel. It was also fought in a desert in north Africa.
